snakes & spiders

spiders
cast their slender threads
across my door . . .
how little it takes to weave
one’s own confinement

snakeskins
in my cellar—
brittle
and translucent
these shed selves

  1. What a good pairing here. Perfect imagery - both delicate and strong - to describe our inner workings. I remember them well, and I find myself reading "how little it takes...confinement" over and over.
