[wild ducks . . .]

wild ducks
pass over the water
like shadows
leaving only streaks of light
. . .  I refold your letter

Moonbathing 7, fall/winter 2012

A letter written nearly seventy years ago--its reader & writer both long gone, leaving only streaks of light.

  1. I was admiring this poignant poem of yours just yesterday. I saw wild ducks gliding along a waterway myself not long ago; as you say, they were like shadows. Striking last line.
